Project Overview

The Mulgoa Road Upgrade project consists of large works to widen the Mulgoa Road corridor to a six-lane thoroughfare and providing improved access to the M4 motorway. To achieve this Superior HDD was engaged by Seymore Whyte to HDD, install and relocate utilities inclusive of gas, water, sewer, electricity and communication conduits.

Superior HDD completed the required drilling works on behalf of Seymour Whyte using our Prime PD150 330,000lb drilling rig full spread.

Bore holes ranged from 300mm to 500mm through tough cobble rock soil profiles.

Paratrack Gyro steering was used allowing the drill head to be tracked and steered clear from multiple existing underground services and utilities. The congested existing utilities and minimal set up areas available made the Prime PD150 the ideal choice for drilling under the M4 motorway in the challenging cobble rock ground conditions.

Superior HDD were able to get the job successfully completed with no issues.
